Kathleen Toole

Kathleen joined the University of Maine in September of 2022 as an Administrative Coordinator for both the Innovative Media Research and Commercialization (IMRC) Center and Experiential Programs Innovation Central (EPIC), specializing in interdisciplinary research resource access.
Raised in the Bangor area, Kathleen was previously a certified public educator in Maine schools for 16 years, teaching middle school Language Arts and high school English and Theatre in Hancock and Penobscot counties. She also directed award-winning Maine Drama Festival and Maine State Show Choir Festival ensembles, and was awarded a U.S. Presidential Scholars Program Distinguished Teacher Recognition in 2020.
As a lifelong learner herself, Kathleen is excited to forward the ambition of DLL to “bring UMaine to the student,” particularly by supporting and advancing quality non-degree programming. In her free time, Kathleen is pursuing a graduate certificate in Digital Curation, and enjoys reading and crafting.
