Barbara Howard
Barbara Howard is the Director of the Bachelor of University Studies at the University of Maine, Division of Lifelong Learning (DLL). She has extensive experience with the adult learner both through practice and organizations. A member of the DLL team since 1990, she has supported the adult learner in several capacities ranging from advising to developing programming and policies for this population. She has served on University of Maine System, University of Maine, and State of Maine prior learning assessment work groups. Additionally, she has helped UPCEA New England as part of its administration including president of UPCEA New England and a national commissioner. She remains ever active in the adult learner realm through presentations and research. Barbara was also an instructor for the School of Human Development, Child and Family Studies and now an adjunct faculty for the College of Education and Human Development.
