Jessie Daniels, MBA

Jessie Daniels is Director of Operations for the Division of Lifelong Learning (DLL) at the University of Maine. Working under the leadership of Dr. Monique LaRocque, Associate Provost, he is responsible for budget and personnel administration and providing leadership and guidance in the areas of finances, operations, human resources, and enrollment management. A member of DLL’s Senior Management Team, he plays a key role in financial modeling and budget development for new and existing programs to ensure a revenue-generating portfolio and oversees the logistical support for course offerings including course scheduling and compensation for academic year, Winter Session, and Summer University.

Prior to serving in his current role, he was Director of Finance and Administration for the Town of Orono, and worked at the University of Maine as Administrative and Fiscal Coordinator for the College of Education & Human Development and as Assistant Director of Student Financial Aid. As Director of Finance and Administration, he was appointed as municipal treasurer and tax collector, and was responsible for cash collections and banking functions, accounts payable and receivable, audit, budget, payroll, reporting, accounting system maintenance, and day-to-day financial and clerk operations for the Town. In his role at the University of Maine as Administrative and Fiscal Coordinator for the College of Education and Human Development, he managed financial and human resources functions and served as an advisor to the Dean. As an Assistant Director of Student Financial Aid, he was responsible for advising students and families about all aspects of financial aid, data management, daily production, disbursement, reporting, verification, return of Title IV funds, Satisfactory Academic Progress, enrollment aid adjustments, website, and print and social media communications. He is also actively licensed as a Maine associate real estate broker, owns and manages rental properties, and volunteers for the Eastern Area Agency on Aging.

Daniels attended the University of Maine for both graduate and undergraduate degrees, earning a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Management and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He grew up in the small coastal village of Eastport, Maine, which is the easternmost city in the United States.
