Jason Hoyt was appointed to the position of Manager, Conferences and Institutes in May, 2018. He is excited to work within the Division of Lifelong Learning, helping to promote the benefits of furthering both personal growth and education, as well as contributing to the greater exposure of what the University of Maine brings to our surrounding community through events, symposiums and camps.
Prior to joining the Conferences and Institutes team, Jason worked for nine sports seasons with Black Bear Sports Properties, helping drive marketing and advertising revenue for UMaine Athletics through partnerships with businesses and agencies. His first position with the University of Maine was from 1989–1994, when he was fortunate enough to drive zamboni at Alfond Arena, including the 1992–93 NCAA Hockey National Championship season. Other previous work experience includes working in cellular sales, owning a landscaping business, and working as a public school teacher. He previously coached High School Tennis at Foxcroft Academy and Hermon High School for a combined 12 years in the early 90s into 2000s, as well as Bantam and Girl’s Youth Hockey for a combined 15 years through the 2000’s. He is currently the varsity and jv head coach for boy’s and girl’s tennis at John Bapst High School, helping them reach the Girls Northern Maine Tennis Finals for the first time in school history in 2018.
Jason received his bachelors of science in Elementary Education from the University of Maine in 1993. He is currently working on his masters degree.
