On-Campus Housing
Housing Services offers students enrolled in summer session courses the option to reside on campus in Oak Hall, a traditional style residence hall with single rooms, during the period of May 10, 2008 to August 23, 2008. Students with Fall 2008 housing assignments should plan on staying in summer session housing until August 27, 2008 when they will move to their fall assignment with other University approved early arrival groups.

Summer Session Housing Application

Room Furnishings
Each room is furnished with a twin bed, bureau, desk and chair. Students supply all their own linens, pillows, blankets and personal hygiene items. Each student room has telecommunication and video hook-ups. Local touch-tone dialing service is available at no additional charge; however the student needs to provide their own telephone. This service includes voicemail. Instructions on the voicemail system will be available upon arrival. For long distance service, individual calling cards are required.

Check-in and Check-out
Upon receipt of the application for summer session housing, the student will receive written confirmation via email of the room reservation, time permitting. Summer session housing is in Oak Hall and specific room assignments will be made at check-in.

Except for those students moving from spring residence hall assignments, rooms are normally available for occupancy on the day before classes begin. The billing week is defined as Sunday through Saturday.

Current UMaine residents staying for summer session will check out of their academic year hall and check into their summer session hall starting at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 10, 2008.

Check-out for all summer session residents is on the Saturday after classes end. Additional cost will be assessed for early arrival or late departures. All accounts are audited and/or adjusted upon the student's departure, and charges are for the actual length of stay and the type of room to which the student is assigned; i.e. double rate for small single; or single rate for regular single room.

Please Note:
The inclusive dates for summer session housing are May 10, 2008 through August 23, 2008.

Cancellations
Students canceling their applications for on-campus housing must notify Housing Services in writing prior to the start of the first scheduled summer session.
